Tet in Seattle wins $20,000 in Chase Giving Campaign

After a record setting performance in the Relay for Life fund raising campaign, Tết in Seattle once again produced another proud moment for the Vietnamese American community in greater Seattle area. For the past month, Tết in Seattle group participated in the Chase Community Giving campaign. It’s a nationwide event with more than 500,000 non-profit charities participated and five million dollars in prizes for the top 200 contenders. After 4 weeks spending day and night soliciting supports and votes from local community, Tết in Seattle able to finished in 85 places and a 20,000 dollars prize. It was a very significant accomplishment considering there were only 3 non-profit groups in greater Seattle finished in the top 200 and Tết in Seattle was the first and only Vietnamese organization got the prize. According to Mr. Khanh Vu, TIS Executive Director, everyone in Tết in Seattle organization committee was extremely happy and proud at the final result. It was a great display of teamwork, dedication and commitment. This Chase event also allowed Tết group an opportunity to reach out to young Vietnamese American and encouraging them to step up and help make a difference in the community. This is also the key message and theme for the upcoming Tết Festival 2011 – Dòng Máu Lạc Hồng or A Fire Within
