On July 20th, the Washington Community Alliance for Self-Help (C.A.S.H.) will be offering a business education and training class for the Vietnamese community in Seattle. The class is an introduction to some of the most important concepts in starting and running a small business, with a focus on what it means to be a small business owner, solidifying your business concept, examining the profitability of your business model, and developing a business plan.
Washington C.A.S.H. is a nonprofit organization whose goal is helping people become financially successful through small business ownership. Most of our members come from low-income situations and are looking to start a new business or develop an existing business into a profitable enterprise.
The course instructor, Quang H. Nguyen, has worked with small businesses in the Vietnamese community for more than a decade. He was the executive director for the Vietnamese American Economic Development Association (VAEDA) and the founder of the Washington Vietnamese American Chamber of Commerce (WAVA Chamber). His extensive experience with small businesses and economic development will provide helpful insights to would-be entrepreneurs.
The class will be held Monday and Wednesday evenings, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., from July 20th through August 3rd. While the course will be taught in English, the instructor is a Vietnamese speaker, and the materials will be offered in Vietnamese. Those interesting in learning more or signing up should call Quang at (206) 799-4804, or email him at Quang@washingtoncash.org.
